Adelaide Maternity Portraits by Jo Reynolds

I am 26 weeks pregnant now and will be on maternity leave for the remainder of my pregnancy.

If you are expecting a baby in late March 2010 or beyond and would like to book a newborn session, please contact me now so I can pencil you in – sessions will be very limited when I first return to work.

The last newborn before my own…

Newborn Portraits by Jo Reynolds

On Sunday I was very privileged to photograph this gorgeous little guy, just six days old, and his two big brothers. Sibling portraits can be a bit tricky at times, but these three boys were unbelievably well behaved and co-operative, which made their session a joy. It was most definitely my last hurrah for this pregnancy and I enjoyed every moment of it.

You can tell they are photographer’s children

On Friday afternoon, dragging my mother along as an assistant, I limped around the local park with my camera in search of the perfect portrait of my girls together for this year’s Christmas card. There is no doubt about it, they are typical photographer’s children. I am pretty sure it’s been over a year since I tried to get a portrait of them and yet they still seem to have seen my camera far too often.

With some persistence and a lot of bribery we did get some great shots in the end – but I am saving those for the card, well the sibling shots anyway. These are the out takes and a few of them being angels individually.

Two Silver Awards!

Silver Award Winning Newborn Baby Portraits by Jo Reynolds

For the last two days I have spent as much time as I could watching the Judging of the 2009 EPSON AIPP South Australian Professional Photography Awards. Watching the judging is a wonderful part of my professional development and I always make a point to try and see a good bit of the judging in categories I am not ever likely to enter. This Sunday I watched the Landscape judging all the way through, which was both delightful and fascinating.

Today I was very pleased to see two of my newborn portraits receive silver awards during the portrait judging – that’s them on the left. These two truly were amongst my favourite images from the last year and I was thrilled that they were well received.

Long awaited portraits

This gorgeous family contacted me about a session the week that I found out I was pregnant. I was so disappointed to have to cancel their session when I found myself too sick to leave the house. They refused the session fee refund I offered them and have been waiting with incredible patience ever since, yesterday we finally managed to meet in person after many phone conversations along the way. I was so delighted to meet this gorgeous little guy at last and I think the results were worth the wait.

I can’t wait to show you the rest at your ordering session!
