Happy Father’s Day!
You know what they say about shoe makers children? Well I don’t take nearly enough portraits of my own children.
For weeks leading up to father’s day I kept meaning to make a portrait for my husband Jesse and have it framed to give him when he woke up that morning. Well it took me until the Friday afternoon before (as in 36 hrs to spare) to finally get myself organised but I by then knew what I wanted, set it up and my beautiful girls actually cooperated with me for once. Note: photographers children are not known for good behaviour in front of a camera. And I am so grateful to my wonderful framer who made a frame for me with no notice at all, even though I know he is super busy and has quite a backlog.
Waiting for Kate
I absolutely love capturing pregnant bellies. I know there can be a temptation to have portraits taken earlier in the pregnancy but there is nothing more beautiful than a woman who really is close to meeting her new baby.
I can’t wait to meet you either baby Kate!
Sisters
Last time I photographed this family Genevieve was only days old – now she’s mobile! And just look at that smile. Her sisters just keep getting more beautiful and grown up too.
This was a mini session for Genevieve’s first birthday, the aim was to fill the last few pages of a maternity, newborn & first year album, which is a beautiful way to document such a special part of this family’s history.
Beach Baby
Today I had the pleasure of meeting the most gorgeous new baby boy and his very proud parents. They lived right on the beach so we were able to make some portraits outside too.
I was a bit anxious before the session because baby L was already two and a half weeks old but he was so good for me and slept almost the whole time I was there – having such loving and relaxed parents has to help!
An outdoor shoot
Meet baby A! At 12 weeks old she was a bit old for a curled up naked baby session – but just right for getting outside and really showing how tiny she is in comparison to the big wide world.
I love doing these outdoor sessions and they are a wonderful solution for older or less settled babies. Though baby a was so good for me and slept so well I almost wonder if we should have tried a studio session after all!
All of these portraits were taken within 100 meters of each other and unbelievably only 10 minutes from the Sydney CBD!
