I met this gorgeous girl on Saturday and we had such a wonderful session. She could not have been more co-operative. I adore the sweetness of newborns, but older babies are so much fun! It’s such a joy to see them smile, laugh, explore and interact.

Is there anything cuter than a baby chewing their own toes while they look wide eyed at the world around them?

I am having another one of those days where I think constantly about how much I love what I do. I spent yesterday with this gorgeous family and as I look at each image I think what a great time we had capturing this beautiful little girl. She is so loved, so adored, and it shows.

And finally the last sneak peak from last weekend’s trip to Sydney. Two of my favourite families – together! This is my third shoot with each of these gorgeous kids, but my first with the two of them together. I have said it before, but I really do love watching my client’s grow and change. These two were sweet little babies when I met them and now they are full of life and joy and mischief!

This is the little girl I couldn’t say no to last week. I gave up one of my days at PMA and APPA to go meet her, and I am so glad I did. Isn’t she just divine? She has such a lovely gentle and caring parents and such a doting big brother, which just made everything so easy. We had a lot of fun with her session and she was very, very co-operative.

Well, I have just returned from a very big weekend in Sydney for PMA, the annual photography trade show, and APPA, the AIPP Australian Professional Photography Awards. I had an amazingly busy and wonderful weekend.

I managed to squeeze in two shoots, one with a precious new baby and one with some favourite clients that it was truly wonderful to see again. In between shoots I managed to look around the tradeshow and find some exciting new products. And, very importantly, I watched the judging of the entire Family Portrait category, including my own entries. APPA is the peak peer review process of my profession in Australia and I was truly delighted to receive three Silver Awards for my images.

The image to the left was the first image I saw judged, and I had not entered it into competition previously, so it was very exciting to see it judged. The two images in the slideshow below came soon after!
